The Petra of Indiana Jones’ Fame
Today was the last full day of our trip. We woke up this morning in a hotel that overlooked ancient Petra. This city was made famous by the film, “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.” Several of us ate breakfast on the terrace as the rising sun revealed the splendor of the rock formations. Once again we were awed.
The grandeur and solid fortification of the city of Petra was but a speck in comparison to the glory and sovereignty of our great God.
One of the members of our group wore a pedometer that recorded over 89 miles of walking during our 13 day journey through Egypt, Israel, and Jordan.
Judging by the comments made at our farewell dinner, everyone felt that they had walked into a very good land.
