President of Hungary Áder János visited the pyramids and Saqqara area along with his family and accompanying delegation on the sidelines of his official visit to Egypt.

Director-General of the Pyramid Antiquities Region Ashraf Mohiuddin said in statements today that the visit lasted for nearly three hours, including a tour of the Great Pyramid, the Sphinx, as well as the Giza Solar boat museum, in which they listened to a detailed explanation of the way the boat was assembled and its restoration.

János was impressed by the magnitude and sculpture of the Sphinx, expressing his great admiration for the construction of the Egyptian monuments.

He explained that the Hungarian President was keen to visit all the archaeological sites in the region for his passion for the Egyptian civilization, and was keen to take memorial photos in various areas including the panorama.

On his part, the Director-General of Saqqara archaeological area Sabry Farah said that the Hungarian President and his family visited the Pyramid of Djoser, as well as the cemeteries of Edut, Mehu, and Imhotep in the Saqqara antiquities area.
