Today we travelled from Taba, Egypt to Petra, Jordan. This involved two border crossings, one from Egypt into Israel and the other from Israel into Jordan. Our plan was to drive directly from one border crossing to another but God had a different plan for our day! We had to spend more time in Israel and were able to do some hiking in the wilderness at Timna Park.

At one point we had to climb over some difficult terrain and some of us felt that it was too difficult to do but our leader spaced helpers a few feet apart over the difficult stretch and they helped the rest of us cross over. We learned that in community we can do things that we can’t each do alone. There is strength in community. It means that the stronger and faster may have to help others and the weaker and slower may need to accept help but there is such joy and satisfaction in accomplishing it together. This is a picture of the church… challenging each other, helping each other, encouraging each other and celebrating doing it together.
